What is the principle of industrial electromagnetic starter

Industrial electromagnetic starters are mainly used to control the direct start, stop, forward and reverse operation of three-phase squirrel-cage induction motors and can protect the motor against overload and phase failure.
It is also called a direct starter because it applies the mains voltage directly to the stator winding of the motor to start the motor at full voltage. Electromagnetic starters are often used when the mains supply and the load do not place any particular demands on the starting characteristics. This is because it is not only easy to operate and control, but also has overload and pressure loss protection functions.
Depending on the direction of rotation of the control motor:
Non-reversing electromagnetic starter: It can only make the motor rotate in one direction.
Reversible electromagnetic starter: It can make the motor rotate in both forward and reverse directions.
